Sculpture workshop week

Season 2024, in the spring and autumn, we will again organize a SCULPTING workshop. This year Ron Katzenbauer will guide the workshop. He has been teaching stone carving at Ouroubouros (summer workshops) for the past 10 years.

Do you love camping and would you like to sculpt in a beautiful natural setting?
Then this workshop is definitely for you!

During this workshop, Ron will teach you the basic technique for carving without injuries and he will guide you in the creative process. Are you Experienced? Ron will then focus on what you want to learn, which can be technical and/or visual.

Experience is not a requirement. What matters is that you enjoy creating your own image.

We invite you to bring out your creative energy this holiday, enjoy it and grow from it. All this in a personal, open and friendly atmosphere in sunny France. With delicious food and in beautiful surroundings. Everything is arranged to let you enjoy your creativity.

In 2024 we will organize this workshop on:

  • Sunday 9 to Saturday 15 June
  • Sunday 15 to Saturday 21 September

Sunday is the arrival day. The workshop days are Monday to Friday

Choose this creative holiday if you …

– want full attention for your creativity for a week
– feel like creating your own work of art
– enjoy being outdoors, love camping in a beautiful natural setting
– feel like relaxing, e.g. at and in the pool, nature and lots of laughter!
– enjoy delicious meals in good company
– want to feel relaxed and recharged at the end of the holiday

You can participate in this sculpture workshop without any experience.

From beginners to more experienced, everyone is welcome. You don’t need any experience working in stone. The material lends itself well to investigative work. On the first day you will learn the basic techniques in a playful way. You can easily get started with this yourself.

Can the basic techniques and postures be learned within 1 day?

Yes, cutting, filing and sanding stone is not complicated. The real art of sculpting naturally requires more attention. But there is plenty of time and space to enjoy carving and creating your own work.

Fancy a creative week in the beautiful natural surroundings of the French Corrèze? You are very welcome.

The full board sculpting workshop costs €535 including the use of materials such as blocks, chisels, sandpaper, etc. You bring your own stone. Need advice? Please contact us. You can book a camping pitch or accommodation separately.

Ron Katzenbauer (dutch) graduated as a costume and set designer. He is at home in various disciplines and has a good eye for shape, color and proportions. From 2011 to 2022, Ron organized holiday weeks at Ouroubouros in the summer. During these weeks he supervised the visual workshops such as sculpture.

During the sculpture week, his focus is on learning basic carving techniques, with the focus being on injury-free carving. In addition, he stimulates the creative flow of the students and challenges them to look beyond the everyday.

Ron – “I enjoy the creative energy of the students every time. As a teacher it is very satisfying to travel with them. I am always amazed at what creative and personal steps can be made in a week.”

Sculpture workshop participant review: “For the second time I did a sculpting workshop in this beautiful place! Super nice people with a great team around them who do everything they can to give you a wonderful time. Sculpture lessons are great, where you are especially stimulated to do your own thing.”
